Write clear customer replies in your brand’s voice, with a little help from AI.
MakerThread is a Chrome extension that helps you reply right inside the websites you already use. It brings together the customer’s message, your saved shop details and any quick notes you add, then writes a draft for you to check, edit and send.
You always have the final say. MakerThread never sends a message for you.

Hi, I’ve ordered a Personalised Loves Tea Towel, but I’ve just realised I missed something in the wording. Is it possible to change it before it’s printed? Thank you!

We built it because we needed it ourselves.
From our own customer service desk
It started at Oakdene Designs.
We’ve been running Oakdene Designs since the start of 2012, so we know how much of the day can go into answering customer messages. When we first started using AI to help, we’d copy conversations from Etsy or Not On The High Street, ask for a reply, then paste it back. The replies were pretty good. The problem was that all the copying and pasting took so long that we weren’t really saving any time. It also didn’t have the context it needed about the customer, their order or who was replying.
We wanted the help right where we were already working. So we built a lightweight extension that adds drafting tools to the websites we use to answer customers. You open a message as usual, give it any details it needs and check the reply before sending. There’s very little new to learn.
We’ve used it internally for a few years, worked through thousands of enquiries and kept making improvements along the way. It’s become one of those things we’d really struggle to do without. That’s why we’ve put the extra work into making it available to other businesses too.
We know what it’s like at Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine’s Day: you’ve got the most orders to make and the most questions to answer, all at once. That’s when having a bit of help with the replies makes a real difference.
